Buhala Lodge offers luxury accommodation close to the Kruger National Park’s Malelane Gate and the exclusive Leopard Creek Country Club. The Crocodile Bridge Gate into the Kruger National Park is also within easy access.
It is an enchanting colonial style thatch-roof lodge, situated on the southern banks of the Crocodile River. The ample outdoor veranda space provides all guests with the opportunity to relax and dine outside while admiring gorgeous views of the Kruger, and all the wildlife splendour it has to offer. Members of the Big 5 are frequent visitors to the property along with crocodile, hippo and many antelope species.
The lodge is a family owned and run business, which focuses on guest comfort and relaxation paired with all the luxury you would expect. A fully licenced restaurant and bar is situated at the main building. Buhala Lodge is well known for fine cuisine and our exceptional wine list showcasing only the finest South African wines. Meals are served either al fresco on our veranda, or in our gracious dining room and the whole ambience is one of casual elegance.
Our guests have the rare opportunity to play golf at the exclusive Leopard Creek Country Club. The golf course, usually reserved for members only, offers players a wildlife experience while challenging their golfing skills on South Africa’s number one golf course.
Safaris into the Kruger National Park can be arranged with our very experienced guide. Early morning walks and even night drives can also be arranged as well as any and all transfers that might be needed. Our open deck bush spa with sweeping views over the Crocodile River, provide a variety of treatments for those who wish to relax after a long day.

Types of accommodation
Standard rooms
Spacious en-suite double rooms with generous bathrooms and freestanding showers. Each room is beautifully furnished and has tea/coffee making facilities and views over the gardens and mountains. Standard rooms are each individually decorated.
Kruger Park River Rooms
Large rooms each with beautiful views over the Kruger National Park and the Crocodile River. These rooms have large windows, generous en-suite bathrooms and tea/coffee making facilities.
Kruger Park Balcony Rooms
Beautiful rooms each with its own private balcony, which overlooks the Kruger National Park and the Crocodile River. Balconies are beautifully appointed with patio furniture ensuring rest and relaxation while admiring the view. Each room is en-suite and has tea/coffee making facilities. Each room is individually decorated so not all rooms look the same. Some of the rooms have a modern open plan bathroom whilst others have a closed private bathroom. Some rooms have a wooden balcony whilst others have a tiled balcony.
Elephant Garden Suites
These two suites are situated at the bottom of the garden and share a splash pool. Each suite has a private outdoor sitting area from where the magnificent view of the Kruger National Park and the Crocodile River may be enjoyed. Each suite has large doors, generous bathrooms and even an additional outdoor shower for the adventurous types.

Buhala Lodge is located close to the southern border of Kruger National Park. The closest park entrance gate is Malelane Gate (15km). The Berg-en-Dal Rest Camp is 26km away.
The nearest town is Malelane (15km), while Skukuza Airport (81km) and Nelspruit Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport (83km) are accessible. Furthermore, OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg is 400km / 4-hours driving from this accommodation.
