Pafuri Luxury Tented Camp is situated in the Makuleke Contract Park in the far north of the Kruger National Park. This luxury safari accommodation stretches along the Luvuvhu River on raised wooden walkways.
The camp has 19 designer tents with en-suite bathrooms including indoor and outdoor showers. There are seven ‘family tents’ that sleep families of four. All the tents offer gorgeous views over the Luvuvhu River. A bush bar, swimming pool and al-fresco dining area offer everyday entertainment, and there’s plenty of space to unwind beneath the branches of the giant trees embracing the camp.
Three delicious meals are served each day and guests are invited to take advantage of professionally guided morning and afternoon game drives to experience the extraordinary biodiversity, scenic splendour and history for which the Pafuri region is renowned.
More adventurous guests can opt for guided bush walks where our guides will reveal many of the intimate secrets of the African bush. Close encounters with animals, both large and small are commonplace.
An extraordinary wildlife experience awaits. Large herds of elephant roam the area together with healthy populations of buffalo, antelope, leopard, hyena and more.
Due to its fantastic riverside location Pafuri Camp is also the destination of choice for avid birders and guests are regularly treated to sightings of rare species, with even the elusive Pel’s fishing owl among those seen in the local area.

Tents are raised on platforms to catch the breeze and connected via elevated walkways so that wildlife can move undisturbed to and from the river. All tents are en-suite with both indoor and outdoor showers. Double / twin tents can each accommodate two adults.

Location
Pafuri Luxury Tented Camp is located in the far north of Kruger National Park, one of our favourite areas of Kruger. This is within the Makuleke Concession and close to South Africa’s international border with Zimbabwe. The closest park entrance gate is Pafuri Gate (24km), while the Punda Maria Gate (60km) can also provide access. The Punda Maria Rest Camp is 59km to the southwest.
The nearest reasonably sized town is Louis Trichardt (210km). The nearest well-serviced airport is Hoedspruit Eastgate Airport, although this is some 310km away, so transfers or a night’s accommodation before arriving at Pafuri Luxury Tented Camp might be advisable.
