Nzumba Lodge, a little piece of paradise, is located in the north-western part of Klaserie Private Nature Reserve, which lies nestled between the Timbavati, Balule & Kruger National Park.
The private nature of this remote wilderness sanctuary enables our valued guests to embrace, in their own time, the sounds, sights and smells of this authentic African bushveld experience. Devoid of other vehicle activity, you will be able to enjoy exclusive sightings, therefore offering great photo and video opportunities.
Nzumba traverses 7,000ha of pristine bushveld including the picturesque Klaserie River, which is the life blood of the reserve, as well as the well-known Olifants River which flows into the Kruger National Park. Safaris within this untamed region of the Greater Kruger National Park focus on the bush and its ecosystems, with the added excitement of getting involved in the tracking of Africa’s big game.
Our experienced guides have taken great time to develop their safaris to ensure that you come away with a better understanding of this very special environment. Greet the day with an early morning game drive, being part of nature waking up, which includes a delectable coffee stop with homemade treats, as part of this experience.

Note that access to the lodge is recommended in an SUV type vehicle. Should your vehicle not be suitable, alternative arrangements can be made to collect your group at the Klaserie Private Nature Reserve headquarters and be transferred to Nzumba at no extra cost.
Types of accommodation
The heart of Nzumba is the main complex, which entices guests to its various lounges to relax and lie back in the comfortable leather chairs surrounded by memorabilia evocative of the romantic colonial era. The upstairs bar & library lounges lead out onto verandas which provide a perfect viewpoint onto the nearby waterhole.
The theme of the accommodation follows this traditional colonial farm-style and consists of a thatched main area and five luxurious, fully serviced thatched chalets with his and hers private bathrooms (excluding room 5). The chalets, accommodating up to 10 guests, flank both sides of the main complex. Three chalets are free standing and two are adjacent (not inter-leading), each with a private veranda.
The chalets are luxurious, fitted with air-conditioning, private minibars and coffee stations. Each room overlooks the pool and flowing lawns that border onto the bush and a close-by water hole that is often frequented by a variety of wildlife.

Klaserie Camps Nzumba Lodge is situated in the north-western part of Klaserie Private Nature Reserve, which shares open borders with the neighbouring Kruger National Park and Timbavati, Umbabat and Balule private reserves.
The nearest Kruger gate is Orpen (68km), while the nearest town is Hoedspruit (42km). Hoedspruit Eastgate Airport (28km) is ideally located, while Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport (178km) is accessible. Flights and transfers from the airport can be arranged.
