Sunbird Lodge is a family run, 10-room guest house located in Phalaborwa – the _Town of Two Summers_ and the edge of Kruger National Park.
Your hosts, Samantha and Dave Lockhart, offer friendly, helpful, good quality service at affordable rates.
Nestled in a leafy 2.5 acre, bird-friendly, tropical garden in a quiet area of town, Sunbird Lodge is less than 2-minutes from the town centre and just 5-minutes away from the Phalaborwa Gate for the Kruger National Park. All the local businesses in the town are less than 10 minutes away, making us the perfect choice for either business or leisure travel.
We offer a range of clean, safe and stylish accommodation on a bed and breakfast or room-only basis, with dinner also available if required during the week.
The tropical gardens have abundant birdlife and the perfect place to relax and let your stress melt away. You can spend your days lazing by the swimming pool, relaxing in the cool of one of our _lapas_ or take in the gardens at night looking at the stars. You can choose to go on one of the many activities available in the area and you can really do as much, or as little as you want.
Free WiFi is available throughout the Lodge ensuring you can keep in touch with friends and family at home or catch up on those important emails if you are working.

Types of accommodation
Accommodation is provided in either one of 5 twin / double rooms in the main house (all with private access from the garden), 2 twin rooms beside the swimming pool or 3 rooms situated further down in the garden.
All rooms are of good size, en-suite with either bath and shower or just shower, and have TVs (with selected DSTV satellite channels), air conditioning and ceiling fans, tea/coffee making facilities, fridges, private patios and are non- smoking. Free WIFI connection is available in all the rooms.
We also have one dedicated family room with bunk beds for the kids and some of our rooms will also take either an extra bed or mattress should you require. All rooms are serviced daily.
All our rooms are strictly non-smoking but smoking is permitted on the patio areas outside the rooms and in the garden areas. Secure parking is provided inside the property in one of 3 car park areas close to the rooms. We also have limited space for trailers.

Sunbird Lodge is located in Phalaborwa, to the west of Kruger National Park. The closest park entrance gate is Phalaborwa Gate (3km). The Letaba Rest Camp is 54km to the east and Mopani Rest Camp is 77km to the north-east.
The nearest town is Phalaborwa (1km). Hoedspruit Eastgate Airport (85km) is accessible, while OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg is 500km / 6-hours driving from this accommodation.
